The ACE Institute is looking for sponsors!

Welcome to our new ACE team members!

The Association of Cooperative Educators would like to welcome the newest member of its team, Michael Norris!

Michael is originally from Toronto, Canada and studied Economics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He has a research background in commodity pricing and international trade, and a passion for education and professional development. Over the years, he has been a member of several co-ops, and has a particular interest for social enterprise development. As president of the Ontario Student Trustees’ Association, Michael worked with the provincial government on a framework for postsecondary education expansion in Ontario, Canada, and specifically, the addition of the province’s first french-language university. Michael sits of several local, nonprofit boards and was recently named one of Canada’s Emerging Co-operators.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys cycling, traveling and connecting with like-minded people over coffee. He speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese after spending some time in his childhood living in Angola.

Should you be interested in connecting with Michael directly, you may reach him at info@ace.coop or michael.norris@cco.coop.

Another member of our team that we are excited to be bringing back is Erin Hancock!

Erin has been a longtime ACE member and Institute attendee. She was instrumental in the development of ACE’s ed.coop learning resource, and will be returning this year to further develop the capabilities of this resource. The need for accessible and quality online co-op education has never been more important due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are happy to have her back as a part of the ACE team.

Outside of ACE, Erin works as the Manager of Promotion and Partnership for the Co-operative Management Education Programs at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Prior to these roles, she served as the Manager of Research and Education for Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada. As a master’s student at the University of New Brunswick, she undertook research on co-op policy in the province, and helped establish the Co-operative Enterprise Council of New Brunswick. FUN ACE FACT: Erin was the 2014 winner of the William Hlushko Award to Young Co-operative Educators.

Should you be interested in connecting with Erin directly, you may reach her at info@ed.coop.
